The IT service provider Tremegisto Consulting supported Juwelier Kurz in redesigning its IT infrastructure. For the set-up, support, and administration of the IT environment, Tremegisto relies on the Swiss Cloud orchestration platform Xelon HQ.
After the Swiss watch and jewelry group Bucherer sold the traditional company Juwelier Kurz, the latter had to set up their own IT environment promptly. Parts of the existing infrastructure had to be removed from the Bucherer network and a new merchandise management system including cash registers and telephony had to be set up. "Due to the time pressure, it was essential for us to quickly have a reliable and scalable IT basis on which we could base the entire migration process," says Doris Mancari, CEO of Juwelier Kurz AG.
The Swiss IT service provider Tremegisto Consulting accompanied Juwelier Kurz in setting up the new IT environment. "Scalability is a key element of this solution, as the client is still planning changes to the branch network," explains Martin Scheiwiller, Managing Director of Tremegisto. Furthermore, the stability of the IT infrastructure plays an important role. Online cash registers are used at Juwelier Kurz, which must maintain a connection to the server environment. "Very high availability is a must criterion. Otherwise, there could be sales losses," says Martin Scheiwiller.
The high scalability and availability were decisive for Tremegisto to realize the IT environment for Juwelier Kurz using the Swiss cloud platform Xelon HQ. Martin Scheiwiller of Tremegisto appreciates first and foremost "the simple user interface and the quick implementation of changes".
"The whole project took no longer than three months"
"The whole set-up was extremely uncomplicated," says Martin Scheiwiller. "The communication channels and response times at Xelon are short. We had a direct line to the competent tech team and all questions were answered within a very short time. This made it possible to complete the whole project in three months."
In the coming weeks and months, additional branches and merchandise management functions will be added, which will require a renewed adaptation of the IT infrastructure. The high scalability of the cloud-based infrastructure from Xelon HQ enables a smooth expansion of the IT environment.
