Our Virtual Datacenter or vDC for short is the all-purpose weapon for Swiss companies to take the step into the cloud without reservation. Flexible, highly available, and completely under Swiss data protection. But what can I realize with it and which scenario suits me best? We provide you with the answer.
We often hear questions regarding state-of-the-art application scenarios with regard to our vDC. Reason enough to take up the most important points in our blog. The first part of this blog dealt with the variants cloud with a central firewall and the advantages of hybrid infrastructures. Now we focus on multi-tenant environments and public servers.
In our customer circles, one group stands out as the fastest-growing. It is the IT service providers. In recent years, there has been no way around a cloud environment from traditional hardware sales. Companies have been outsourcing various areas such as accounting or HR to service providers for some time now. This trend has naturally also affected IT. Operating a highly available, redundant cloud infrastructure in a data center is associated with high costs and a lot of effort. That's why it makes sense to work with a provider like us. This way, even small IT operations can adapt their portfolio to the market. The IT service provider can create several independent environments within his vDC and map complete customer environments in them. The system is completely multi-client capable, i.e. the customers are separated from each other. I want to see that? Here you can test it for free with Xelon HQ.
For the start, it should be only a small system? Maybe a Linux server or a web server? With the vDC it is of course possible to create classic public servers without any problems. We provide a large amount of predefined standard templates in the Virtual Datacenter. With just a few clicks I assign one or more WAN and/or LAN network interfaces with IPv4/IPv6 to my server. Over the local LAN I can completely separate internal traffic, for example to DB servers. This method can be a start. We make it a point to provide the ability to scale with our platform. Gradually build out your vDC with more features. Be it load balancing, Docker, site-to-site, or client VPN, but also security functions such as web application firewall (see also Managed IT Security).
As announced: The Virtual Datacenter or vDC provides a solution for every use case. The application scenarios mentioned are available as standard from our public cloud environment. This means that the hardware resources are shared among the customers. However, we also offer complete private cloud environments. In this case, you benefit from all the advantages of scalability and management, but you are the only user of the hardware resources.
Email or call us to discuss your scenario and the appropriate variation.
