The two Swiss specialists for IT infrastructure, Green Datacenter and Xelon, are joining forces to provide companies with holistic support on their way to the cloud.
Lupfig, 25 November 2020 - Green Datacenter, one of the leading data center and cloud providers, and Xelon, an innovative tech start-up with its own cloud infrastructure management solution, have entered into a multi-level innovation partnership. The new collaboration is designed to make it easier for Swiss companies to use public cloud services, particularly Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). Companies that want a Swiss solution and thus a Swiss data location will thus receive holistic local support in the future.
Green will focus on data center services, networking solutions and hybrid cloud models, while Xelon will continue to develop specific IaaS and PaaS solutions and provide advanced customer support. As a result of the collaboration, Xelon will acquire an existing OnApp cloud solution from Green and will modernize and operate the platform, which is primarily used for individual virtual machines. "As a proven IaaS specialist, we will be able to offer new functions that further simplify the operation of virtual servers for SysAdmins and DevOps," announces Xelon CEO Michael Dudli.
To further expand its infrastructure and services, the Zug start-up already moved into its own data center space in the Green data center in the summer. "Since Swissness plays an important role at Xelon due to the highest data protection and security requirements, Green, with its five data centers in Switzerland and its excellent track record, is the ideal partner for us," says Xelon CEO Dudli. Since July 2020, Xelon has held the ISO 9001 and 27001 certifications for quality management and cyber security respectively. Thus, the usual high information security standard can be guaranteed throughout.
With this step, the Green Cloud Ecosystem gains further importance and with Xelon a new partner. "The Ecosystem will grow rapidly with partnerships along the most important technology topics and thus offer companies from our data center outfits a complete portfolio for their cloud journey," explains Roger Süess, CEO of Green, and adds: "This is a fulfillment of our promise to support companies in modernizing their IT in a holistic and far-sighted manner. Further joint customer projects are already planned.
Green Datacenter AG is one of the leading providers of data center services in Switzerland. The company operates five data centers at three locations in the greater Zurich area. The Lupfig campus was expanded in 2019 to include an 8-megawatt cloud data centre, which was specially designed to meet the needs of national and international cloud providers. Three further new buildings will complement the campus in the future. As a full-service provider, Green offers not only data centre space and colocation services but also the networking of IT infrastructures and comprehensive cloud services. Green supports companies on their journey to the cloud with a cloud ecosystem.
