The IT environment including the emergency telephone service of SOS AERZTE must be available at all times of the day and night. In its e-health strategy, the company relies on the services of Teleinformatik Services AG, which in turn brought the cloud specialists from Xelon on board as providers in the infrastructure area. The core of the project is cloud computing. Due to the high demands on security and availability, SOS AERZTE no longer operates its own infrastructure and outsourced the entire IT and telephony infrastructure to an external, ISO-certified data center.
What does e-health mean?
E-health or digital health describes the use of modern informatics and technology in health care to increase quality, efficiency and to improve the focus on current but also new and expanded patient needs.
We accompanied and supported the traditional Swiss IT company Teleinformatik Services AG in migrating the infrastructure of SOS AERZTE to Xelon HQ and in setting up a geo-redundant 3CX telephone system for the emergency service.

Not only medical practices but also hospitals
Of course, the topic of cloud or IT innovation in healthcare does not only concern classic medical centers or medical practices. Especially where data protection, stability and reliability are a virtue, local Swiss cloud providers can illustrate their advantages. As an example, we can also count the national hospital and care association H+ among our long-standing customers.
H+ represents private hospitals, care institutions and other facilities with a total of around 200,000 employees. For over 80 years, H+ has been actively shaping the Swiss healthcare system and is committed to ensuring that all patients have access to efficient and effective
healthcare throughout the country. 226 hospitals, clinics and care institutions at 380 locations are active members of H+ and receive support in the areas of business management, occupational safety, quality assurance, tariff regulations and e-health. In view of the diverse range of tasks and the high degree of responsibility towards healthcare institutions and patients, it should come as no surprise that H+ is dependent on a reliably functioning, stable and scalable IT infrastructure.
The entire case study on H+ is available here.
