When choosing the right backup solution, the retention period, management and the devices used play an important role. We created an overview of the backup options for you and recommend Cloud Backup from Switzerland.
Data loss costs billions of dollars every year. They also lead to sometimes irreparable damage to your reputation. With the right backup solution, you can avoid data loss even in the event of natural disasters or hacker attacks.
Which software your company should use to back up data depends on three factors:
Backups for on-premise infrastructures and dedicated servers are often created with Acronis software. With this option, we create an Acronis account for our customers. Then you install the Backup Agent on the desired systems and manage your backup jobs via Acronis. The data is stored in the Xelon data centers in Switzerland.
For virtual environments and on-premise virtualized environments, Veeam Cloud Connect Backup is suitable. This is a powerful, easy-to-deploy cloud technology that IT service providers can use as a basis for online backups. Xelon is a certified Veeam partner and, with a price of six centimes per gigabyte and six francs per virtual machine, currently has the most attractive Veeam cloud backup offer in Switzerland.

Companies that manage their IT infrastructure in our virtual data center - Xelon HQ - can use Xelon HQ Backup. "With this option, you don't have to take care of the backups yourself. No technical know-how or prior knowledge is required. In addition, customers do not have to pay any licensing costs," explains Matias Meier, Head of Technology at Xelon.
In Xelon HQ, users can now determine how long their backups are kept. You can also choose whether only daily or weekly backups are created. Since November 2020, it is possible to change the backup settings with a mouse click:

In connection with the backup function, we are currently planning further new features: "Soon, Xelon HQ users will also be able to access their backups themselves," announces Matias Meier.
Regardless of the backup solution chosen, Xelon guarantees the highest security and data protection standards. The backup infrastructure is located in our ISO-certified data centers in Switzerland and all data is subject to Swiss data protection. Xelon received ISO 27001 certification in July 2020, the leading international standard for information security management systems and the most important cyber security certification.
